Speaking topics

I’m often called upon to speak about the following topics but will collaborate with you to define the vision with you and your team for an upcoming event.

  • OVERCOMING ADVERSITY: REINVENTING YOURSELF WHEN LIFE TAKES YOU OFF SCRIPT.

What do we do when life is not what we expect it to be? How do we recalibrate our lives, careers, and dreams? What are the gifts available to us as we find our way through? Leaning on my life-changing experiences, I offer ideas on how to change the way we see life challenges, flip the script, and ultimately become the people we are created to be.

  • LIFE IS AN INVITATION: YOU ARE MADE FOR THIS.

You are made for the life you are living. Not the one you hoped for or the one the person next to you is living. Drawing on my personal experiences, I invite the audience to stop sitting on the sidelines and wishing life was different. Using my unique perspective, I guide the audience to embrace our lives, uncover our purpose, and create goodness in the world around us, all because of our personal stories.

  • GRIEF AND SELF DISCOVERY

My oldest son Ethan died after a long battle with congenital heart disease. My youngest son lives with rare muscular dystrophy. I've spent years supporting mothers and families as they've faced their child's illnesses and death. Deeply committed to personal growth, I share how grief is an invitation to personal and spiritual growth that allows us to see the world differently, cultivating a fulfilling life and healed heart.

  • LEADERSHIP THAT CHANGES HEARTS

How do we lead change when it comes to complicated topics and situations? How do we inspire change in organizations and movements? Through my organizations, I encourage the audience to think "people first" so that leaders and changemakers can guide with their hearts and inspire others to join them.

  • HEALTHCARE INNOVATION + THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE

What happens when medical innovation does not go as planned? Should we continue it? What about the cost to patients, their families, and their medical team? My family and I have navigated innovative healthcare procedures and options. My involvement in various medical communities allows me to lead the conversation about how we move forward and hold the tension of medical advancement and its impact on patients and their families.

Read about my perspective published in The Journal of Cardiac Development and Discovery.

  • MOTHERHOOD RE-WRITTEN

How do we recalibrate our lives when our version of motherhood is not what we hoped for or expected? How do we navigate loneliness, mental health, marriages, and disappointments as we raise children with illness or challenges? I am deeply passionate about encouraging and equipping mothers who might be navigating motherhood in a way they did not expect. Sharing my own experiences, I breathe comfort and confidence into my audiences and offer practical advice they can apply to their lives.

Love from my people

She invites you to get curious about your life, love your imperfect self, and embrace the challenges you have been “gifted” rather than given. Through the perspective that we are made for this life, Jess encourages us to embody the life we are living. A gift to anyone yearning to find richness, purpose, and acceptance in one’s own life.”
